Yeah for me!

This weekend was a blast! My wonderful husband took me to San Antonio for the weekend. We stayed at La Mansion and went to a fabulous dinner on Saturday night.

The restaurant was called "Biga on the Banks", located on the Riverwalk. It was pricey, but totally worth it. We both ordered beef tenderloin, but our waiter was having non of that, so he basically put together an "experience" for us (if you knew me, you'd know that I am not a very adventurous eater....I just ate my first fish meal a couple months ago!). So, he started bringing out different appetizers and salads. My first were two pork tenderloins cooked in a spicy Asian inspired sauce. Then he gave me a lettuce wrap...chicken you might think...but no...it was filled with cashews, ostrich, buffalo, and vennison! I ate it and I LOVED IT!! Best lettuce wrap I ever had :) Then I had a spinach salad with roasted quail on top...again, not something I would ever THINK about eating, but it wasn't that bad.

I realized this weekend, that I don't need to eat tons of junky foods. I wish I could eat every night like I did on Sat. but that is not possible until I win the lottery or something :)  I decided that I am going to recommit to zoning and see how it goes. It's going to be rocky at first. I think I'm going to phase into it...dinner probably won't be a 'zone' meal, but my goal is that all my eating during the day will be. Dinner will be eyeballed, but my husband is not a zoner and he still likes his carbs!  AND I'm going to treat myself to a bit of ice cream every night!

Today, I got  up and worked out at 7:15 this morning. I have another goal, which is to workout before work when school starts! That involves getting up at 5am to make it to workout by 5:15. I'm the person who sleeps until the last possible moment....but I want to do this.

Hello Dolly....

It's been raining pretty much all week because of Hurricane Dolly, so we had to cancel crossfit classes at CF Sugarland. I decided to take yesterday off, but Wednesday I made up my own WOD and it was a killer!! It involved a lot of running and burpees!

Eating well has been non existent this week. Let's just say I had a record of Chick-fil-a for 4 days straight and then I topped it off with Wendy's the next day. It's a wonder I don't blow up to 150 lbs. Part of it is motivation and the other part is that I'm really grossed out by the things I used to eat. It's quite odd. For example, I used to LOVE making eggs, a piece of toast, cup of fruit, almonds, with a bit of butter for my toast. Now the thought of eating that makes me want to puke. I buy fruit at the store, with the intentions of eating it, but alas, a week or two later its gone bad in the fridge. I'm actually wanting more meat now...meat and sugar....GREAT eating plan!!!

On a happy note, it's my 5th Wedding anniversary!!! Ryan is taking me somewhere for the weekend, but it's a surprise. I'm excited, this is the first time he has ever planned something for us to do. I'm usually in on the planning, so this is a welcome break.

Summer....

So, I've been relaxing most of the summer and not too keen on keeping up with things! I took about a month break from crossfitting and I've been getting back in the swing of things over the last three weeks or so. I think I needed the lay off. I also, not intentionally,  laid off on my eating. That's harder to get back on track than anything else. I'm trying to take it one thing at a time. First is getting back into my workouts, then the eating will come ( I hope!).  Money's been kind of tight, so that makes eating healthy that much harder...I'm not spending as much on buying fresh organic fruits and veggies, milk, etc. It's just too easy to make a pot of spaghetti, or a PBJ sandwich for lunch with a few chips. It's really annoying, actually.

My workout buddy and friend, Grace, has just opened up Crossfit Sugarland. It's rockin and rollin! I'm planning on helping out some with some of the classes. Here's a pic of my playing around!image.html.jpg
